One advantage of having more theaters in town than you can count on your hands and toes is diversity. That's the conventional wisdom and an assumption in many of my reviews. But personally, what I value most about the Valley's theater scene isn't just the variety per se, but the idiosyncrasy within.  

THEY must like golf at Tain's Carnegie Lodge Hotel. Everywhere I looked there was something to remind of me of that frustrating game with which I have wrestled since a teenager. Even in the toilets there were caricatures of golfing's greats, including a young-looking Sam Torrance.

WISHAW High School FPs crashed out of the M&M Cup on Saturday losing 3-1 to Garrowhill Thistle in a hard-fought encounter at Lochend High School, Easterhouse. The FPs were without a number of first-team regulars and manager Gary Hailstones took the opportunity to give some game time to players who have not played much football since early December. Making his first competitive start for Wishaw was centre-half Stuart Grant, replacing the injured Wull Montgomery.

More than 100 Dallas firefighters fought a four-alarm fire that ate its way through four popular restaurants and bars on Lower Greenville Avenue in the early morning hours. The blaze started at about 5:45 a.m. in the kitchen area at Terilli's Restaurant & Bar in the 2800 block of Greenville Avenue. Flames could be seen shooting out of the large building and smoke plumes could be seen for miles.
